Preheat oven to 350 degrees
In a large bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, eggs, vanilla and butter. Mix together using a large spoon or electric mixer until all of the ingredients are fully incorporated.
Pour all but approximately one cup of the batter into a 9-inch non-stick baking pan lightly coated with baking spray.
Add the cocoa powder to the cup of batter left over and mix together completely.
Use a spoon to drop large spoons of batter on top of the batter already in the pan, then use a knife to swirl the chocolate batter into the vanilla batter in any pattern you like.
Bake for approximately 35 minutes or until you cake passes the "toothpick test".
