3 tbsp Cocoa
1 tsp Baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup Butter, softened
1 cup Caster sugar
2 Eggs
A Few drops of vanilla extract

Mix the flour mixture and milk a little at a time, alternately into the egg mixture, mixing well after each addition.  Mix in the chopped apples.

Spoon the cake mixture into the prepared pan and smooth the surface.

Bake for 45 – 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in to the center of the cake comes out clean.

Leave for 5 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, add this chocolate buttercream frosting for a special treat.
